Zacharie grew up in eastern Canada and moved to Toronto to pursue his undergraduate degree in physics at the University of Toronto. During the past three years, he has been involved in many Engineering Outreach Programs, where he passes on his love of physics and mathematics. During his senior year, he completed research on uses of plasmonic metal gratings and trapped ion quantum computing. Wanting to continue studies in the advancements of quantum technologies, he joined Prof. Helmy to pursue an M.A.Sc. in photonic. His current research interests include the development of integrated quantum photonic circuits for possible advancements in metrology and linear optical quantum computing. In his free time, Zacharie likes to solve riddles, study physics, and to try new foods.
