Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – 2018

What kind of activities might I expect to have to do?

Check out our program brochure for an overview of some of the activities we have planned for our DEEP Leadership Camp program. Activities range from engaging guest speakers to exploring research methods, from dissecting the design process to legacy project brainstorming, and from team-building challenges to community-cultivating activities. Being in a beautiful natural setting, participants should expect an outdoor education experience that connects to the natural environment through hiking, swimming, canoeing and star-gazing, and infuses the experience with understanding personal leadership and an introduction to professional responsibility in science and engineering.

What are some things I should remember when packing?

There are no laundry facilities available at camp. Please make sure to pack for a full week of camp, with inability to wash any clothes. Some activities may be messier than others. Be prepared to have an extra pair of clothes to change into. Temperatures can range dramatically in July, from fairly cool (10-15°C ) to very hot and humid (25-30°C). Please make sure you pack a range of clothing to be comfortable.
