Alex is a second-year PhD student in Atmospheric Physics at the University of Toronto. His current research topic is characterizing the variability of snow on Arctic sea ice, which includes both working with satellite observation data and output from computer models of the atmosphere. He also did a Master’s at U of T in Physics, in the area of experimental nonlinear fluid dynamics. This will be Alex’s third year as a DEEP instructor. In his spare time, Alex dabbles in a variety of ever-changing hobbies; currently, his main hobbies are reading and knitting.
