Andrew Flood is a PhD candidate in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Toronto. He also did his B.A.Sc. in engineering science (physics) and M.A.Sc. at U of T. Prior to graduate school, Andrew designed machine vision systems at ATS Automation in Kitchener. Due to this experience, engineering design remains a significant topic of interest for him. In his free time, you can find him playing board games, hiking, playing guitar, and travelling. Research-wise, his focus is on thin silicon photovoltaics (solar cells), luminescent materials, optical gain, and photonic crystals.
