High School Academic Preparation Courses
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Academic Preparation Courses aim to enrich the knowledge of Grades 9–11 students on core Ontario high-school level math and science curriculum. Designed in consultation with current Ontario high-school teachers, these non-credit courses consist of a curated suite of online materials and real-world challenge problems to practice problem-solving skills. Students will meet daily with their Mentor (current engineering student) to receive guidance through group review sessions and activities.
Please note that this is not a remedial course. The Academic Preparation Courses are intended for students that wish to supplement their existing knowledge in order to help better prepare themselves for math, chemistry, and science in the upcoming school year.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Each course will run a week-long consisting of daily modules uploaded in advance for self-directed learning. Mentors will facilitate daily online activities and support students’ learning goals. Students will also be invited to participate in optional programming activities that focus on degree and career exploration, personal development, and community-building.
