Summer Volunteer Opportunity

TITLE: Jr. DEEP 2026 Volunteer

WHEN: June 29, 2026 – July 31, 2026 and August 10 – August 21, 2026

The Engineering Student Recruitment & Outreach Office (ESROO) manages and administers the core outreach programs offered by the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering at the University of Toronto. We serve as the central unit for outreach initiatives promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education to a broad audience.

The Junior Da Vinci Engineering Enrichment Program (Jr. DEEP) is currently seeking high school volunteers to support programs running throughout July and August 2026 for students in Grades 3–8. Volunteers will assist with day-to-day program activities and help create an engaging and supportive environment where students can explore innovative and cutting-edge STEM education beyond the scope of a traditional classroom setting.

Volunteers will gain experience through:

• Supporting innovative STEM curriculum, workshops, and activities
• Assisting students with individual and group work
• Supporting camp and program logistics
• Developing communication, leadership, and teamwork skills in an educational environment

Eligibility

This volunteer opportunity is open to high school students currently enrolled in Grade 10 or higher. Individuals interested in volunteering should enjoy working with young students and have an interest in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and coding. Interested individuals must be available to commit to a minimum of 1 week and up to 7 weeks throughout the program period.

Additional Information

Volunteers will receive relevant training prior to their start date.
