Get ready to roll up your sleeves and explore science, technology, engineering, and math in our hands-on STEM program just for girls! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced young scientist, our program has something for everyone. We'll help you develop critical thinking skills, boost your confidence, and unleash your inner genius.

Participants may only attend one week of the Girls' Jr. DEEP program as the content repeats week after week. We would encourage you to consider one of our other Jr. DEEP courses this summer.

Program Details

Dates

Week 1 — July 3 - July 7, 2023 

Week 2 — August 14 - August 18, 2023 *NEW*

Registration for Girls' Jr. DEEP August 14 – August 25 will open on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 8:00 AM ET.

Schedule

Monday - Friday – 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM*

Session 1 – 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Nutritional Break 1 – 11:00 AM - 11:40 AM

Session 2 – 11:40 AM - 1:40 PM

Nutritional Break 2 – 1:40 PM - 2:20 PM

Session 3 – 2:20 PM - 4:00 PM

*We offer before care (8:00 AM – 9:00 AM) and after care (4:00 PM – 5:00 PM) free of charge for students in grades 3/4 and 5/6. All students in grade 7/8 will be dismissed at 4 PM.

Grades

This program is offered to students in Grades 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 (2022/2023 academic year.)

Creating an Active Account

If this is your first time registering for one of our programs, you will be prompted to create an Active account as you register. If you are successful in getting a spot in the workshop, your spot will be held for you as you complete the registration form, so no need to rush.

Please note that it is not possible to create an account before the registration date.

Waitlist

If you see that a course is waitlisted on the registration page, that means there are no available spaces. If a space opens up in the course, those on the waitlist will be notified immediately in the order that they registered.

Cost

$435/week

Cancellation Policy

A refund or a credit, less a $80 administrative fee is available for cancellation requests received by 11:59 PM ET on the Monday before the session start date. No refunds or credits will be issued after this point. Please note that this charge is to cover administrative processing fees. Thank you for your understanding! For more details regarding cancellation deadlines, please refer to your confirmation email once you have completed the registration process.

Your health and the health of our community are important to us. In light of circumstances around assessing symptoms, refund requests for programs that are received after the cancellation deadline will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Participants will conduct experiments, work on engineering design projects and collaborate in an all-girls environment, taught by some of the most amazing female engineering students at U of T!

Disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering

Grades 5/6
