Discover Girls' Jr. DEEP Summer Camp, a hands-on STEM summer camp designed for girls in elementary school. Girls in Grades 3 to 8 explore exciting topics in science, technology, and engineering through fun, hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Inspired by the diverse disciplines within the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, this program offers a unique opportunity to explore STEM in a supportive, all-girls environment led by inspiring U of T female engineering students!

Girls' Jr. DEEP offers girls and non-binary students the opportunity to take part in fun and engaging STEM learning through practical, activity-based experiences.

Our course instructors are current undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Toronto in science and engineering fields who are excited to share their experiences in STEM and provide mentorship to students interested in STEM careers!

Join us this summer for an unforgettable learning experience that will inspire students to pursue passions in science and engineering!

STEM-focussed Program

Exciting and engaging activities that explore various fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

Empowering Girls

 

Courses build confidence in STEM and empower girls to see themselves as future STEM leaders and innovators.

Mentorship Opportunities

Courses are taught by undergraduate students in STEM fields who are passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers.

A collaborative and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and think creatively.

Eligibility

Eligibility

This program is offered to girls and non-binary students in Grades 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 during the 2024/2025 academic year. To attend, students must currently be in Grades 3–8 (or have completed one of these grades this spring).

For example:

  • A student who completed Grade 4 this spring and will enter Grade 5 in the fall is eligible for the Grade 3/4 class.
  • A student who completed Grade 6 this spring and will enter Grade 7 in the fall is eligible for the Grade 5/6 class.

Students who are completing Grade 2 this spring, going into Grade 3 next fall, will not be eligible for Jr. DEEP Summer Camp this year.


Engineering Experience

This program does not require previous experience with engineering or STEM programs.

Registration Steps

  1. Click on the "Register" button on the top or bottom of this page.
  2. When registration is open, all the available courses will appear on the registration page.
  3. Add the courses to your cart by clicking "ADD TO CART" after each course you are interested in.
  4. If a course is full, it will say "WAITING LIST ONLY." Add it to your cart to add yourself to the waitlist.
  5. After adding all the courses you're interested in to your cart, hit "CONTINUE" at the top of the page.
  6. On the next page, enter your email address to sign in or create an account.
  7. Indicate which child should be registered for each session you have added to your cart.
  8. Answer the registration questions and read and scroll through the waivers.
  9. Complete your online signature and click "CONTINUE TO CART."
  10. Double check all course information is correct, then enter payment information and click "Pay now."

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email - if you do not, please reach out to us.

Cancellations

Cancellation Policy

A refund or a credit, less a $90 administrative fee is available for cancellation requests received by 11:59 PM ET on the Sunday the week before (7 days before) the session start date.

  • Week 1 (June 30-July 4): cancel before Sunday, June 22, 2025

No refunds or credits will be issued after this point. Please note that this charge is to cover administrative processing fees. Thank you for your understanding!

Waitlists

Waitlists

If a course you are interested in is listed as waitlisted on the registration page, it means all spots are currently full. If the course is full, add it to your cart and go through all the registration steps to join the waitlist.

If a spot opens up in the course and you are the next person on the waitlist, the system will automatically send you an email asking if you would like to register for the spot. At that point you can decide if you would like to register or be removed from the waitlist. 

Please note that waitlist offers have a deadline. If your waitlist offer deadline passes and you have not responded to the offer, your waitlist offer will expire and the spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.

Course Fees

$350 per week

Course fees include the optional before-care (8:00-9:00 AM) and after-care (4:00-5:00 PM).

Course Offerings 2025

Please Note: Girls' Jr. DEEP and Girls' Jr. DEEP Coding will not run on Statutory Holiday, Tuesday July 1, 2025

Our summer camp courses are designed for students based on the grade they completed in the spring of this year.
For example, a student who was in Grade 4 this year, starting Grade 5 in the fall, would be eligible for the Grade 3/4 classes.

Girls' Jr. DEEP (Grade 3/4, 5/6 & 7/8)

This week-long program provides an engaging introduction to four key streams of engineering, where students participate in hands-on activities and problem-solving challenges guided by expert instructors. Each day brings a new theme and exciting opportunity to discover how engineering shapes the world around us.

Content will be levelled for appropriate grade level.

Daily Workshops

Girls' Jr. DEEP Coding (Grade 5-7)

Girls' Jr. DEEP Coding is a crash course that will provide students with the opportunity to master the basics of coding. They will be introduced to various coding languages and explore how to create their own programs, with an emphasis on coding logic, programming functionality, and theory. Are you ready? Because we are!

This course is designed for students with little to no coding experience.
