Attention all girls in Grades 3-8 – are you ready to dive into the exciting world of STEM?

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and explore science, technology, engineering, and math in our hands-on STEM program just for girls! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced young scientist, our program has something for everyone. We'll help you develop critical thinking skills, boost your confidence, and unleash your inner genius.

Program Details

Dates

Week 1: July 2 - July 5, 2024 (4 day week)


Schedule

Tuesday - Friday – 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM*

Session 1 – 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Nutritional Break 1 – 11:00 AM - 11:40 AM
Session 2 – 11:40 AM - 1:40 PM
Nutritional Break 2 – 1:40 PM - 2:20 PM
Session 3 – 2:20 PM - 4:00 PM

*We offer before care (8:00 AM – 9:00 AM) and after care (4:00 PM – 5:00 PM) free of charge.

Grades

This program is offered to students in Grades 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 (2023/2024 academic year). Students need to be currently in grades 3-8, or have just completed grade 3-8 in order to attend.

Creating an Active Account

If this is your first time registering for one of our programs, you will be prompted to create an Active account as you register. If you are successful in getting a spot in the workshop, your spot will be held for you as you complete the registration form, so no need to rush.

Please note that it is not possible to create an account before the registration date.

Waitlist

If you see that a course is waitlisted on the registration page, that means there are no available spaces. If a space opens up in the course, those on the waitlist will be notified immediately in the order that they registered.

Cost

$360/week

Cancellation Policy

A refund or a credit, less a $90 administrative fee is available for cancellation requests received by 11:59 PM ET on the Monday before the session start date. No refunds or credits will be issued after this point. Please note that this charge is to cover administrative processing fees. Thank you for your understanding! For more details regarding cancellation deadlines, please refer to your confirmation email once you have completed the registration process.

Your health and the health of our community are important to us. In light of circumstances around assessing symptoms, refund requests for programs that are received after the cancellation deadline will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Course Offerings

Our summer courses are offered for students who have completed the listed grade this spring (eg. a student who was in grade 4 this year, going into grade 5 in the fall, would be eligible for the grade 3/4 classes).

Girls' Jr. DEEP
Grades 3/4

Girls with an interest in science and engineering will thrive in Girls’ Jr. DEEP! This one-week course will inspire students to tackle fun and fascinating activities and challenges. Participants will conduct experiments, work on engineering design projects and collaborate in an all-girls environment, taught by some of the most amazing female engineering students at U of T!

Disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering

Girls' Jr. DEEP Coding
Grades 5-8

Girls' Jr. DEEP Coding is a crash course that will provide students with the opportunity to master the basics of coding. They will be introduced to various coding languages and explore how to create their own programs, with an emphasis on coding logic, programming functionality, and theory. Are you ready? Because we are!

This course is designed for students with little to no coding experience. Students will be in one class with grades 5-8.

Grades 5/6
