Bursary Program

U of T Engineering Outreach, through the generous support of funders, is able to award bursaries (financial aid) to families displaying financial need.

Application Steps

  1. Complete the application form
    (link below)
  2. Submit a Notice of Assessment
    from the most recent tax year for primary parent (or both parents, if applicable) - please black out your Social Insurance Number
  3. Submit any additional documents
    relevant to the application

Bursary Application Information

Bursaries are available to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and protected persons who demonstrate financial need.

To apply for a bursary, please complete the bursary application form, and afterwards follow the link provided to submit all relevant Notices of Assessments (NOA) from the most recent tax year.

Please note: the granting of bursaries is reliant on continual communication with the Engineering Outreach Office including:

  • Completion of the application form
  • Submission of the bursary application documents that include all relevant Notices of Assessments from the most recent tax year
  • Prompt email correspondence surrounding the bursary application, providing clarification or additional details as requested

Program Details

You are eligible to apply for an Engineering Outreach bursary if you are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person with demonstrated financial need.

Bursary applications can be submitted at any time from when a program is announced until a program reaches capacity or registration closes.

Steps for applying to the bursary:

  1. Complete the application form
    You will need to submit a separate application for each child you would like to receive a bursary for.
  2. Submit a Notice of Assessment
    Upload a Notice of Assessment from the most recent tax year for primary parent (or both parents, if applicable) to your account.
    IMPORTANT: Please black out your Social Insurance Number (SIN) before submitting your NOA.

  3. Submit any additional documents
    You can submit any additional documents that are relevant to the application.
  4. Wait to hear back if your bursary is approved
    You should hear back from us within a week of your completed application.

If your bursary is approved, we will send you a coupon code to use when you register for an Outreach program. If you are already registered for the program, we will refund you the amount of the bursary you have been approved for.

Bursaries can be applied to current Engineering Outreach programs listed in the bursary application. Be sure to indicate which program(s) you are interested in on your bursary application.

Please note that the bursary can only be applied to a maximum of two courses per student, and the bursary cannot be applied to residence fees.

Bursary Checklist

Before starting your application, make sure you have all the following ready:

  1. Parent/Guardian contact information, employer and occupation
  2. Child's name
  3. Names and costs of programs the child is interested in
  4. Names, ages, schools, and annual tuition for all dependants in the household
  5. Family income and savings
  6. Notice of Assessment from the most recent tax year (in digital form, eg. PDF)
    IMPORTANT: Please black out your Social Insurance Number (SIN) before submitting your NOA.
  7. Any additional information/documentation relevant to your application
