Inspiring bright young minds!

Through the LAUNCH summer program, students can participate in the U of T Engineering experience from the convenience of their community! LAUNCH allows students the opportunity to take part in fun and engaging STEM learning through hands-on activities modelled after U of T science and engineering courses. Our course instructors are current undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Toronto in science and engineering fields who are excited to share their experiences in STEM and provide mentorship to students interested in STEM careers!

July 4 - July 7, 2023 | Grades 3/4, 7/8

July 10 - July 14, 2023 | Grades 3/4, 5/6

July 17 - July 21, 2023 | Grades 3/4, 7/8

July 24 - July 28, 2023 Grades 3/4, 5/6

 

As we have limited spaces available, this fully subsidized program is only open to students at schools local to the camp. Camp is filled on a first-come, first served basis as registrations are received.  Students may only attend one-week of the program.


Schedule

Monday - Friday – 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Eligibility

Students must be in grades 3/4, 5/6, or 7/8 in the 2022-2023 academic year.

Creating an Active Account

If this is your first time registering for one of our programs, you will be prompted to create an Active account as you register. If you are successful in getting a spot in the workshop, your spot will be held for you as you complete the registration form, so no need to rush.

Please note that it is not possible to create an account before the registration date.

Waitlist

If you see that a course is waitlisted on the registration page, that means there are no available spaces. If a space opens up in the course, those on the waitlist will be notified immediately in the order that they registered.

Cost

FREE--there is no charge to participate. 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation requests must be received by 11:59 PM ET on the Monday before the session start date. Thank you for your understanding! For more details regarding cancellation deadlines, please refer to your confirmation email once you have completed the registration process.

Your health and the health of our community are important to us. In light of circumstances around assessing symptoms, refund requests for programs that are received after the cancellation deadline will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

2023 Course Descriptions & Daily Schedule

Monday

Intro to Civil Engineering

Students will learn about the factors and forces required to lift and move a large load.

Tuesday

Intro to Mechanical Engineering

Students will learn about the factors and forces required to lift and move a large load.

Wednesday

Intro to Electrical Engineering

Students will learn the basics of circuitry — electricity, current, voltage, ohm’s law, etc. —  to construct their own electric circuits.

Thursday

Intro to Software Engineering

Students will learn the fundamentals of coding to build their own computer programs.

Friday

Intro to Biomedical Engineering

Students will learn how to apply engineering principles and design concepts to solve problems in healthcare.
