Full Description
Modelled after our Da Vinci Engineering Enrichment Program (DEEP) Summer Academy for high school students, Jr. DEEP offers courses on cutting-edge topics in science, technology and engineering, with an emphasis on hands-on learning.
We are excited to be bring our high quality, hands-on learning experiences to Markham at Bill Hogarth Secondary School (100 Donald Sim Ave).

Participants may only attend one week of the Jr. DEEP (Markham) program as the content repeats week after week. We would encourage you to consider one of our other Jr. DEEP on-campus courses this summer.

Monday - Friday – 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM*
Session 1 – 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Nutritional Break 1 – 11:00 AM - 11:40 AM
Session 2 – 11:40 AM - 1:40 PM
Nutritional Break 2 – 1:40 PM - 2:20 PM
Session 3 – 2:20 PM - 4:00 PM
*We offer before care (8:30 AM – 9:00 AM) and after care (4:00 PM – 4:30 PM) free of charge for students in grades 3/4 and 5/6. All students in grade 7/8 will be dismissed at 4 PM.
Grades
This program is offered to students in Grades 3/4, 5/6 & 7/8 (2022/2023 academic year.)
Creating an Active Account
If this is your first time registering for one of our programs, you will be prompted to create an Active account as you register. If you are successful in getting a spot in the workshop, your spot will be held for you as you complete the registration form, so no need to rush.
Please note that it is not possible to create an account before the registration date.
Waitlist
If you see that a course is waitlisted on the registration page, that means there are no available spaces. If a space opens up in the course, those on the waitlist will be notified immediately in the order that they registered.
Cost
$435/week
Cancellation Policy
A refund or a credit, less a $80 administrative fee is available for cancellation requests received by 11:59 PM ET on the Monday before the session start date. No refunds or credits will be issued after this point. Please note that this charge is to cover administrative processing fees. Thank you for your understanding! For more details regarding cancellation deadlines, please refer to your confirmation email once you have completed the registration process.
Your health and the health of our community are important to us. In light of circumstances around assessing symptoms, refund requests for programs that are received after the cancellation deadline will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Movie Magic: Engineering the Entertainment World
Attention future engineers and film enthusiasts! In this course, students will learn about the technology, and engineering feats of design that capture and create epic action scenes and effects in all their favourite movies. Explore the evolution of the entertainment industry with set design, integration of technology and how we push boundaries of turning fiction into reality. Your imagination is the only limit to your creation, so get ready to call lights, cameras, and action!

Aerospace Adventures: Engineering Throughout the Cosmos
Take your imagination to new heights and beyond! In this course, students will explore the science and design of aircraft, spacecraft, and robotic systems that travel within and beyond Earth's atmosphere. From astronomy to aerospace, students will learn about relevant scientific concepts, and work to design and build innovative technologies like rovers, satellites, and telescopes. Students will also work to engineer their own rockets, truly taking their learning out of this world!

Artificial Intelligence: Exploring the Wonders of Machine Learning
Explore the exciting and ever-evolving field of artificial intelligence! Students will learn the fundamentals of machine learning and have the opportunity to put these concepts into practice. This course will cover the numerous components involved in the creation and use of artificial intelligence and robotics and provide a glimpse into what the future holds for these exciting fields.
